Stuffed Mushrooms
Stuffed mushrooms definitely have to be at the top of my favorite appetizers list. I make these often for catered parties because they are the perfect bite. They are best served hot out of the oven but they are also fine at room temperature and can hold up on a platter for a bit. Its also nice that you can make these ahead of time or the day before and they pop them in the oven just before guests arrive. When I make these for the holidays I typically make a bunch of them vegetarian and then I add browned crumbled sausage into the remaining mixture to take them up a notch. They are amazing on their own but with sausage they are heavenly. I hope you enjoy them!!
Holiday Appetizer Wreath
This holiday wreath appetizer is so delicious and easy to make! It makes such a beautiful presentation on a holiday table and looks so nice with rosemary and a candle in the middle. This recipe can be scaled up or down to make the full recipe or a half recipe to serve 8. I have been making this for years and it is always a big hit! I hope you enjoy it!!
Brie & Jam Bites
This is one of my favorite holiday appetizers, they are delicious and so easy to make. These are always on the menu for Thanksgiving and I often bring them to holiday parties, they are a huge hit. These bites only require 3 ingredients to make so it is a great recipe to have in your repertoire if you need a last minute appetizer. Feel free to swap in your favorite kind of jam, I recently made these with peach jam which I canned over the summer and they were amazing.
Kale Salad with Goat Cheese, Beets & Pomegranate Seeds
With the holidays approaching I wanted to share one of my favorite festive salads. Not only is it beautiful and perfect for your holiday table, it highlights some of the lovely produce that is in season this time of year. It is nourishing and colorful and very easy to throw together.
Brown Butter and Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookies
In honor of National Cookie Day, I wanted to share one of my very favorite, tried and true recipes. I have been making these cookies since I was in culinary school and it is always a crowd favorite. It is the perfect gooey, soft baked cookie and I love the nuttiness of the brown butter, paired with semi sweet chocolate and flaky sea salt on top. They are definitely a step up from your normal chocolate chip cookie recipe and I promise you will love them!
Banana Bread with Cinnamon & Sugar Crumb Topping
If banana bread and coffee cake had a baby this would definitely be their golden child! This makes a wonderful gift for a friend or neighbor and is a comforting treat to enjoy with afternoon coffee or tea. It is a great way to use up ripe bananas that you have hanging around.
Broccoli & Cheddar Soup with Homemade Breadsticks
The weather in Connecticut is finally starting to feel like fall. I really love the cold weather because for me, that gives me an excuse to make a big pot of soup and curl up next to the fire. I am such a big soup fan that I could make different kind each day of the week and be happy! The inspiration for this meal came to me one chilly night where I just wanted something comforting and hearty. Think Panera’s broccoli and cheddar soup, and olive gardens pillowy soft breadsticks but better!
